UDC faq
Can we compete at GHGH: Street Dance Championships 2023?
Yes of course, all dancers may compete in any of the 1v1 battles. Regarding the team categories, this will be allowed if there is space. Please indicate on your registration form that you would like to attend both.
Why do you use rank instead of score?
The reason total rank is used over total score is to negate any bias from the judges. 1 super high or low score can give 1 team a huge advantage or disadvantage. Using rank allows each judges scoring to have equal weight ( highest score =1, second highest score=2) and negate bias.
Do we need to use all of the time limit?
Performances are judged based on their quality, not length. You do not have to use the maximum time limit if you don't have to.
Can we add our competition to the University Dance Calendar?
Yes you can!, please send us your competition details and an info pack to info@ghghuk.com.
Do we need to pay per category?
No the entry fee allows you to compete in as many categories as you like.

.
Is there a limit to how many categories you can enter?
No, you can enter into as many categories as you like.
Can we practice on the stage?
Unfortunately due to the time restraints of the competition, no team will be allowed to practice on stage. There will be practice are'as available on the Level 4 Foyer.
I am not sure what category to enter?
Try to pick the category which you think best fits. Our judges will check you performance in the preliminary stage and make sure you are in the correct category.
Whats the difference between Supporter and Spectator tickets?
Supporter tickets are tickets paid in advance along with competitor tickets once registration closes. Competitors and supporters will all be seated together. All tickets are given to you in the morning when you arrive, so you will have to distribute the tickets to all your competitors and supporters.
Spectator tickets can be bought closer to the event and even on the day but the allocated seats won't be next to the team. As each ticket is bought separately online or on the door, we will distribute these tickets as spectators arrive.

WHY DID YOU INTRODUCE THE PRELIM STAGE?
The Prelim stage was introduced to make sure that every team is in the correct category and that the competition is fair. We understand that it can be hard know for certain what category you should enter and we know there are instances of teams being in the wrong category. We hope to eliminate that issue with the Prelim stage.
